Jesus said to his disciples: “If you know me, then you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
But poor Phillip doesn't quite understand what Jesus was telling his Disciples. So he probes further and asks of Jesus, "Master, show us the Father and that will be enough for us." But Jesus' response was to tell him once again that whoever has seen him [Jesus], has also seen the Father, because he and the Father are one, the Father is in Jesus and Jesus is in the Father.
Let's think about this a bit. These were very special times when Jesus walked the earth. Think of all the people who personally heard his preaching, or saw him walking with his Disciples and others from town to town, and the crowds that grew larger and larger due to the word passing from place to place about him.
People were naturally curious, but I believe Jesus won more souls that he lost. Or did he lose any? Who knows?
We are like Phillip. We long to see the Father, and because we did not live in Biblical times, we also long to see Jesus!
FAITH! Believing in something that you have not yet seen. There are billions of people around the world who believe in Jesus and in the Father. Yet we have not seen them.
Arriving at a faith-built life is so difficult to explain that I won't even try. I can only tell you that you need to read the Gospels in the Bible: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Each of the storytellers has selected specific events of their personal knowledge and the audience they wish to reach. These books do not come close to telling ALL of the things that Jesus did while here on earth. I'm sure it is a long and wide story, and we will know it when we see him in Heaven.
So I suggest you begin with the four Gospels and learn as much as they offer about Jesus. You can then make a choice: faith or no faith?
Jesus made hundreds of statements about the afterlife and that of his Father and his Kingdom. He earnestly built his evangelism around all souls going to Heaven. I can attest to the fact that a life lived by the Word [the Bible], quiet, daily prayers to both Jesus and the Father, and then living with the thoughts of "what would Jesus do?" when a decision faces you or calamity comes down upon you.
Have FAITH in Jesus! BELIEVE he is real! He has already told us that NONE of us will see the Father except through him. Worship, honor, love, and respect Jesus! He gains the most satisfaction out of a soul saying, "I love you, Jesus!" It is so simple to lead a Christian life, yet so many turn away. I believe some are afraid of what they will find. But, if only they knew the benefits of a Christian life, if only we can get through to as many as possible, the glory of the graces from God are unsurmountable!
I have never had a happier life than the one that I am living now, for Jesus. I love and respect him. I ADORE him. You can have all that I have, too. If you need a little guidance, go to your bedroom alone, get down on your knees beside your bed, and as Jesus to please come into your life and heart and help you from this time forward. Ask him for his guidance through The Holy Spirit coming into your heart also. Praise him about all the good things that you do have, and know that those things are infinitely available to you. Jesus is a 24/7 working soul! He's always there, so stop your sinful ways and call on Jesus to help you turn away whenever you are tempted. You will see, I promise you, just what Jesus can do for you! AMEN!
Lovingly in Jesus Christ,
