Luke 1:26-38

The angel Gabriel was sent from God
to a town of Galilee called Nazareth,
to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph,
of the house of David,
and the virgin’s name was Mary.
And coming to her, he said,
Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.
But she was greatly troubled at what was said
and pondered what sort of greeting this might be.
Then the angel said to her,
“Do not be afraid, Mary,
for you have found favor with God.
Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son,
and you shall name him Jesus.
He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High,
and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father,
and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever,
and of his Kingdom there will be no end.”
But Mary said to the angel,
“How can this be,
since I have no relations with a man?”
And the angel said to her in reply,
“The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.
Therefore the child to be born
will be called holy, the Son of God.
And behold, Elizabeth, your relative,
has also conceived a son in her old age,
and this is the sixth month for her who was called barren;
for nothing will be impossible for God.”
Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.
May it be done to me according to your word.”
Then the angel departed from her.
This Gospel is one of the most beautiful representations of God's power. In that time in history, God seemed to speak to many. Angels of the Lord came down and spoke to people telling them what God asked of them, and although fearful at first, they are soon won over by The Holy Spirit descending upon them and entering their hearts and minds.

Imagine that you are Mary, and an angel has come to speak with you. Her reaction is not one of fear, which leads to the thought that these appearances to people all through The Bible are commonplace. But if an angel were to descend upon you and told you that you would have an immaculate conception of the Son of God, would you be frightened? Not only that, but it was revealed that her elderly aunt was now six months pregnant!

How do we discern that is it God or Jesus, and not the devil, who is speaking to us? First and foremost, you really must be still and listen for him to speak to you. There will be no denying that the voice you heard was truly that of God or the Son, Jesus.

Satan doesn't talk, he DOES! And the things he does are in complete opposition to what God would do for you in your life. Who would dare to summon Satan? You summon Satan and he will not speak to you, rather, he will wreak havoc in your life. There will be no good, only sadness and woes unspeakable.

If the visitation of the Angel of God visiting Mary, and telling her should would soon be with child, does not touch your heart as the Power of God, what will?

It is human nature when things are not going "right" (as you see it), that one forgets that he has the most powerful of all the universe sitting right beside him/her, and all one needs to do is pray. Ask and it shall be given to you, but not perhaps immediately. I have prayers for situations I wish would change that I have offered up to God for a very long time. Nothing has changed, but I know HE HAS IT! And it is His WILL, not ours, that will persevere. It is difficult, waiting and waiting, but if you have truly given this thing to God, then your mind should be clear from any more worry about it. I know this from experience.

God wants us to lay all our troubles on his shoulders and then, let go of them! Not exactly the easiest thing in the world. Again, I know from experience. Faith is a strong word, and an even stronger act.

Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.
May it be done to me according to your word.”

This beautiful, young woman who had never been with a man had FAITH and BELIEVED in the word of God.

When you pray, and you ask God to remedy something for you, do not forget "May it be done according to your will." If the answer you WANT does not come, it is either that this is not what God feels you need or it is something that he must work on for a time before it will materialize.

I've mentioned the six degrees of separation. When God is working on your problem, he may have to make changes in many people that you know in order for your prayer to come to fruition. Give Him time; give him Trust; give him your Faith that He WILL answer according to His word!

Hail Mary, full of Grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.

Mary holds a special place where she is sitting right next to her son. She was the ONE woman in all the earth that God chose to carry and raise his child. She will pray for you, she is anxious for you to ask her to pray for you. She carries a lot of weight with Jesus, and thus, her prayers are extremely powerful! Keep her close in your heart and say your Rosary regularly, if not every day. This is The Mother of God!

Pray also for your own ignorance. That you do not know Him fully, and that you cannot comprehend his powers. But though fearful, you will come to him and give him the opportunity to make wonderful changes in your life. Pray that your heart can be still so that Jesus can plant good seeds in your life that will grow into beautiful branches, all reaching to the heavens to Jesus and His Father.

Praying for you and those whom you love,
