This Day's Thought from The Ranch
Sorrow is one of the things that are lent, not given.  A thing that is lent may be taken away; a thing that is given is not taken away.  Joy is given; sorrow is lent; …then it will be taken away and everlasting joy will be our Father’s gift to us, and the Lord God will wipe away all tears from off all faces.
Amy Carmichael

This Day's Verse
I will extol You, my God, O King; And I will bless Your name forever and ever.  Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever.  Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.
Psalm 145:1-3
The New King James Version

This Day's Smile
Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.
Anne Lamott

While I love This Day's Thought and Verse, today's Smile really got my attention! Are you having one of those days where everything you touch turns to mush and nothing is going right for you? Are you racing to beat a deadline, but your computer keeps locking up on you? Are you shopping hurriedly only to find yourself saying when you get home "why did I buy that??"

Are you not getting along with someone and no matter what you say, it always comes out wrong and is misunderstood? Walk away and gather your thoughts BEFORE you try talking about the issue at hand.

Unplugging for a few minutes means to go get a coffee or soft drink and just sit down and rest for a 10 minute break. Or if you don't have much time and you're trying to shop before you have to pick the kids up at school, 9 times out of ten, you'll buy something you really don't need or want. Admire it, then walk away and look around some more, then come back to it and I guarantee you will know in your heart if this is what you really want to purchase.

Unplugging is also walking away from stress and tension and having a few minutes with Jesus. Go sit in the break room, or outside, anywhere where you can be alone for a few minutes, and open your heart to Jesus. Talk to Him as if he were sitting right there, a friend to talk over your troubles with is sitting right there next to you, so talk away.

So unplug yourself, go find some peace and then come back renewed and refreshed! AMEN!

Lovingly in Jesus Christ,
