IN THANKSGIVING

For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth.  By You I have been upheld from birth; You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb.  My praise shall be continually of You.
Psalm 71:5-6

~*~

At this time of Thanksgiving, I reflect on my youth and spiritual matters.  I didn't like going to church or especially Sunday School.  I was of a different faith than Catholicism, and we attended infrequently.  That causeD such an inferiority complex in me when I was forced to go to Sunday school. I never had my "lesson" done for that Sunday, everyone knew everyone (except for me), and whenever I called upon to answer a question about the day's lesson, I sat silent while everyone stared at me.

When I left home and made my way as an adult, I NEVER went to church and I NEVER prayed. This went on for over a decade.  In fact, I was surrounded by people and a love interest who didn't believe in God.  I knew it was wrong in my heart, but I never spoke up.  In essence, I had turned my back on God.

As I think on it, there were several times, 3 specifically, when men I did not know came to my door and begged me to let them in.   One needed to use the phone because it was "urgent", one claimed to be looking for his daughter and wouldn't take my word for it that she wasn't in my apartment and he wanted to come in and look, and the last one knocked on my door and tried to get me to open it saying "don't be afraid, I'm not a burglar."  Do you see all that could have happened to me, especially if the two me to whom I opened the door had forced their way in? It scares me to death to think about it.  And all the times I was riding on the back of that motorcycle going 70 mph down a California freeway wearing NO helmet

These are only a few examples of where God did not turn his back on me. I am sure there are thousands of instances where God took the wheel and turned me in the right direction or saved me from my own stupidity and ignorance.  They say "ignorance is bliss".  Well, I suppose that's true but what would happen if the world were in a state of constant bliss?  We would not know God even existed.  If everything were always grand, why would we need God?  No, mankind is far from ignorance, and still denies itself of a full relationship with our Lord and our God.

This Thanksgiving, I am the most thankful for when I fully gave my heart and soul to God!  My life is not a state of bliss, but I have good people in my life, people who love me and will be there whenever there is a need, and receive the same from me.  I have a God with whom I talk and give my innermost feelings and thoughts.  He also receives my complete love above all things and people.  God is Number One in my life.  And I am prepared to die for Him if this world comes to that end.

I no longer fear death because I know Him, and I know there is a Heaven and my mind cannot comprehend how Glorious it is in heaven!  I'm not ready to go.  I have a lot I want to do and see before I go, but if He came for me today, I would be ready.

If God came for you today, would you be ready to go with Him? To answer to His questions about your life and how you lived it?  Believe me when I tell you that your Salvation is THE single most important thing in your life.  Everything else falls beneath it. Don't take it for granted, don't take God and Jesus Christ and all that was sacrificed just so you could spend eternity in Paradise, and yes, in complete bliss, for granted.  You have to earn your place because we are all sinners but forgiveness is just one word away!

This Thanksgiving, turn your heart to Heaven.  Tell Him that you want to have a real relationship with Him and then get on the ball and keep it going,  Pray/talk to Him every day.  Pray for others, pray for yourself, but most of all, pray that Thy Will Be Done.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST!

OUR LADY'S MONTHLY MESSAGE

November 25, 2014 Medjugorje Message

Today, November 25, 2014, Our Lady appeared the visionary Marija and delivered the following message:
“Dear children! In a special way, today I am calling you to prayer. Pray, little children, so that you may comprehend who you are and where you need to go. Be carriers of the good news and be people of hope. Be love for all those who are without love. Little children, you will be everything and will achieve everything only if you pray and are open to God’s will – to God who desires to lead you towards eternal life. I am with you and intercede for you from day to day before my Son Jesus. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION NOVENA BEGINS FRIDAY

 Peace be with you!

Four years ago, Annie asked me to pray the Immaculate Conception Novena with her.

I actually turned her down, because I always had trouble finishing a novena. I would always forget.

After I thought a little bit more about it, I knew that wasn't a good enough reason not to join her in prayer.

So, her simple request inspired me to create PrayMoreNovenas.com to help people remember to...
...well...
Pray More Novenas!
Since then more than 146,000 people have joined in praying together!

So, to commemorate the day that Annie inspired me to create this prayer service - we are praying the Immaculate Conception Novena starting this Friday, November 28th!

We will begin praying on Friday, November 28th. That's in just a few days!

You can ask your friends & family to sign up here:

CHRIST THE KING - HAPPY FEAST DAY!

Peace be with you!

Happy Feast of Christ the King! May He reign!

Thank you for joining us in praying this novena!

Here at Pray More Novenas, at the end of every novena, we always pray the following as our final prayer.
Let us pray...

Dear Lord Jesus, I have specific requests that may only partially fill the infinite needs and desires that are in my heart. I ask that You answer me not only for those requests but also for a greater reliance on You to satisfy the needs and desires that You have given me.

Please grant the prayers of all those who prayed this novena with me. Bless them with Your love and make them holy!

May I seek You with a sincere heart knowing that it will profit me nothing if I gain the whole world yet lose my soul.

So, help me to see Your good and gracious purpose in all my trials. Help me to see Your blessings in every day and help me to love You more.

Thank You for everything, Lord Jesus!

Amen.
Again, thank you for praying with us!

SPIRITUAL GEMS

Your Role is to Sacrifice and Pray and Without You the Plan is Delayed

You are a sparkle of light enkindled in my Flame of Love. The light you have received from me enlightens souls.  The greater the number of souls who sacrifice and watch in prayer, the greater is the power of my Flame of Love.  Hence, come together in close ranks, because it is with the power of prayer and sacrifice that the flash of hellish hatred will be overcome...the splendor of my Flame of Love will fill all regions of the earth.

FINDING PEACE

"I want only to remain in the heart.  I have played my role in the mind and now I am playing the role of my heart.  Satisfaction is there, only there.  Peace is there, only there."

O dreamers of peace, come.
Let us walk together.
O lovers of peace, come.
Let us run together.
O servers of peace, come.
Let us grow together.

~*~

I ran across the above and it didn't cite the author, but it spoke to me and, my mind and my heart.  It seems that there comes a time in the aging process where one feels they have done and experienced all that they feel is enough pain for one lifetime. Once there, they may live in their mind, hashing the years gone by over and over, which could be quite depressing.  Rather, one should live within one's own HEART and the role that is there oneself.

For me, "playing [this] role" means that I am living in my heart with The Holy Trinity!  And I have found greater peace and calm in this place than any place I've ever been in my mind.  I have come to rely on three persons, together as One, and individually.  Each gives me something different, but altogether with the same ultimate goal - Peace, which is walking this path to Heaven.

Philippians 4:6-8(ESV)

do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

It is difficult to not become anxious in times of struggle, want or need. Remember always that you have God and as verse 7 above says "...the peace of God ..... will guard your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ."

Verse 8 rings of everything POSITIVE!  Try putting these verses of Philippians 4 into practice in your own lives.  I've been here many times, and once I can focus on my communication with God and Jesus Christ, my mind becomes calm and more confident.  I know He is there, waiting, because He already knows why I need Him - He awaits patiently for me to come to Him in thanksgiving and want. Don't hesitate, go to Him now and give up the things of your mind and take the things He offers your heart.

Live in peace and spread the Good News, my dear friends in Christ.

Lovingly in Jesus Christ,
Abbey

CHRIST THE KING NOVENA DAY 8

Peace be with you!

The Feast of Christ the King was created during a time when the world was becoming increasingly nationalistic and secular.

Not too much has changed.

Pope Pius XI responded to the times, and wrote, "While nations insult the beloved name of our Redeemer by suppressing all mention of it in their conferences and parliaments, we must all the more loudly proclaim His kingly dignity and power, (and) all the more universally affirm His rights."

Today, let's pray that God will reign throughout the world.
Here are the prayers for today:

THE GOD OF MY ROCK

Happiness and calmness are neither inside us nor outside us.  They are in God, who is both inside and outside us.
~Blaise Pascal

~*~

This quote came to me in a very timely fashion.  It opened my eyes to many things. For one, that I have prayed for certain things to happen for years and nothing has changed.  What would any intelligent person think of that?

I'll tell you what I think, I think that God does not feel that what I am asking of Him is something that will ever happen or be good for me.

Now what?

Dear Ones, I am a sufferer of depression and anxiety.  It is "chronic" and in my family gene pool.  I didn't know what was happening to me over 30 years ago. I was scared to death when the panic attacks began. I couldn't leave my home for fear that I would suffer another attack in public.  I tried to take my daughter and her friend shopping, but when I found myself in the middle of a bunch of round clothes racks in a store, I lost my breath and just had this feeling "I gotta get out of here now!"  I did and I found my daughter and her friend and apologized that I didn't feel well and that we needed to go.

I have been on various medications ever since.  Unfortunately, the "thing" back then was Elavil and it caused me a lot of weight gain.  I've never been able to lose it until I began in earnest about six months ago, and I've lost 30 pounds and need to lose at least 30 more.

In all this, hard as it is, I have to thank God for my infirmities, for they ARE His Will.

I have come to rely on God's will and he is indeed inside of me and outside of me.  I can see him in the clouds, in the foliage, in other people, and most importantly, in myself. How else would so many of my prayers have been answered?  I have enough experience with prayer and God to know that I trust Him completely, and because my prayers for "my will" have not been answered, I can only resolve that God's will be done. I pray that I make the right choices.  I've had signs and I know what I need to do as far as the subjects that are at the center of my life.

And you should feel the same way, also! Trust in Him and in His Will.  Allow it to rule your most important decisions and choices!  Give God sufficient time to work in your life and watch for His works around you that may be showing you what you need to do.  He will always answer, though it may not be what you expect or want.  ACCEPT IT because God will always steer you to the right thing for your life and those in your life.
2 Samuel 22:3 KJV The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
God bless you all. I love you deeply and want you to come to conversion if you have not already. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are waiting for you, anxious for you, they love you and will be ready to care for you eternally - on earth and in heaven - so please, do not hesitate.  Lay your troubles and your heart at the foot of the cross, feel that wonderful feeling of knowing that the mightiest power we know cares FOR YOU, as much at this power cares FOR ALL.  24/7 on call and it costs you nothing but your gift of your heart and your life to God.
