Peace be with you!
Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception is also the Patroness of the United States.
As we continue to pray for all those suffering, I'd like to pray for those suffering as a result of all recent natural disasters especially the 24 tornados that hit the central United States recently.
Let's pray that Our Lady comforts and protects all those suffering from these situations.
Here are the novena prayers for today:
O most pure Virgin Mary conceived without sin, from the very first instant, you were entirely immaculate. O glorious Mary full of grace, you are the mother of my God - the Queen of Angels and of men. I humbly venerate you as the chosen mother of my Savior, Jesus Christ.
The Prince of Peace and the Lord of Lords chose you for the singular grace and honor of being his beloved mother. By the power of his Cross, he preserved you from all sin. Therefore, by His power and love, I have hope and bold confidence in your prayers for my holiness and salvation.
I pray first of all that you would make me worthy to call you my mother and your Son, Jesus, my Lord.
I pray that your prayers will bring me to imitate your holiness and submission to Jesus and the Divine Will.
Hail Mary...
Now, Queen of Heaven, I beg you to beg my Savior to grant me these requests...
(Mention your intentions)
My holy Mother, I know that you were obedient to the will of God. In making this petition, I know that God's will is more perfect than mine. So, grant that I may receive God's grace with humility like you.
As my final request, I ask that you pray for me to increase in faith in our risen Lord; I ask that you pray for me to increase in hope in our risen Lord; I ask that you pray for me to increase in love for the risen Jesus!
Hail Mary...
Don't forget to remember the intentions of this prayer community today.
I'll be praying for you today!
God bless you!

Peace be with you!

Today is the first day of the Immaculate Conception Novena!

It's time to pray!

I'm looking forward to seeing the things that God does through this novena. We should all do our best to be open to God's will and looking for Him even more during this novena.

One of the great things about praying a novena this way is all of the prayer partners you get!

There are about 75,000 people who are joining you and me in praying the Immaculate Conception Novena!

I mentioned before that I want to pray this novena for all those who are suffering.

Well, today I want to pray especially for those who are suffering as a result of the recent natural disasters in the Philippines.

This novena is fitting because Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception is the Patroness of the Philippines! (and has been since 1578)

Many members Pray More Novenas are suffering from the Typhoon in the Philippines.

Let's pray for all those who are suffering in the Philippines and especially for those who are part of our prayer community.

I pray that your prayers will bring me to imitate your holiness and submission to Jesus and the Divine Will.

Hail Mary...

Thank you for joining me and thousands of others in praying this Immaculate Conception Novena.

Nic Davidson’s Black Friday Shopper’s Companion

This is terrific!  I'm in Gatlinburg, TN, and it's known for it's little shops of oddities, and then Pigeon Forge has the BIGGEST Christmas store.  Near there, ladies, I say "OUTLET MALL!" Hope to get some Christmas shopping done. Everyone have a blessed day. It's official. The Christmas Celebrations can begin in full swing.  Dear Jesus, we are so thankful for you and we will not forget the reason for the season.  Your birthday is the most special day of the year. Be with us all and bless us with good decisions, jobs for those who have none, and that everyone pray their thanks to you each day! Amen!  GOD BLESS YOU ALL +++  Abbey

Preface: This “Black Friday Shoppers Companion” was created to aid you in the many escapades, detours, pitfalls, and ecstasies that you’ll experience as you venture out on the day after Thanksgiving. It is meant to be read repeatedly on your phone as you shop, or printed off and crumpled in with the coupons, to be glanced over every time you un-crinkle them for discounts.
  1. Remember that just a few hours ago, you were most likely calm, sedate, and thankful for something. You’ll soon forget that, if you’re not careful, so if you have any peaceful pics on your phone from yesterday, or even a pat of butter to smear on your face, you might want to use them as your “center” today.
  2. People ARE good, they ARE made in the image and likeness of God, but today many of them will forget that. Don’t be one of them.
  3. “There are Christians whose lives seem like Lent without Easter.” (PF, EG) Don’t be one of them, either.
  4. If you reach for the same amazing deal as another person, just stinking let them have whatever it is. If they say, “No, you go ahead”, then you reply in the same way. If they insist, I’d recommend that you take the item, purchase it, go back into the store, follow them around (at a distance, of course), wait till they pay, trail them to their car, watch them get in, and just as their door is about to close, toss the item into their car and run for the hills. Time consuming, yes, and you won’t get any shopping done (not for you anyway), but it’d make for some great stories.
  5. I have it on good authority that those towels are always $2 and will still be $2 tomorrow.
  6. If you gotta go, please, for the love of turkey, go! Read THIS if you’re thinking of holding it in order to get one…more…deal.
  7. Gluttony is a sin, the food court might be, too, but Cinnabon isn’t. If it were, it’d be spelled differently.
  8. If they’re older, smaller, and weaker than you, they get to go first no matter where you are.
  9. The same goes for if they’re younger, bigger, or stronger. (See what I did, there?)
  10. Virtue lies in the middle. Be restrained in purchases for yourself; be bountiful in purchases for others. It’ll help you find the middle.
  11. If your feet get sore, start a “massage line” at whatever store you’re in, insisting that the line begin with you.
  12. Carry someone else’s shopping bags out to the car or to the next store for them. Ask permission, first.
  13. I think Pope Francis chose his name because his initials would be PF, enabling him to regularly endorse his favorite food court proprietor, Mrs. Chang. So, scratch my comment on #6. Food courts are kosher.
  14. Today, you may see much of the ”desolation and anguish born of a complacent yet covetous heart, the feverish pursuit of frivolous pleasures, and a blunted conscience.” (PF, EG) Fight the complacency, the covetousness, the frivolity, and the blunted-ness. Use coffee, if necessary. Just fight.
  15. Remember what Black Friday is and what it isn’t. It IS a great day to save some money, since most of us have very tight budgets. It is NOT a great day to find joy. In fact, you’ll find very little happiness floating around today. Pleasure, yes; joy, not so much. (“technological society has succeeded in multiplying occasions of pleasure, yet has found it very difficult to engender joy” – Paul VI)
  16. Be lavish. Be generous. “You can give, you can give, you can give.” ( Needtobreathe (Preview) )
  17. Tomorrow, insist on calling it Chartreuse Saturday. Bring back Mauve Monday, too.
  18. It’s okay to have First World Problems, and even to be annoyed by them, as long as you can then laugh them off as such.
  19. Be thankful today, too. Don’t just say “thank you”. BE a thankful person today. Live as though you’re overwhelmed with the greatness of life and just want others to know about it.
  20. Take frequent snapshots throughout the day, both of others and yourself. Look at them right after you take them, as a reminder that you look as disheveled and weary as everyone else you were just mentally judging. Look at them later, as a deterrent against doing it again next year.
  21. Post those pics in the comment section, if possible, or at the very least, email them to me ( and I’ll post them on my blog.
  22. I hate even numbers.
  23. Lastly, remember that life is a gift, deals are awesome, people are more awesome, Christ is most awesome, EVERYONE is amazing, you are willed, loved, and necessary, and you should mail me some Cinnabon.

This song literally popped up when I was searching
for something else.  I adored Whitney.  I watched
with sadness over the years how she self-destructed.
Perhaps she served her purpose for God,
His instrument to teach us lessons of life. I
was personally so sad when she left us,
and the conditions under which she died.
I pray that she is with Jesus Christ.

Eternal rest, grant unto her, O Lord; and let
your perpetual light shine upon her.
May her soul, and all the souls of the
faithful departed, through the Mercy
of God, Rest In Peace. Amen.

On this special day that many of us celebrate, we, here at This Day’s Thought at The Ranch, are certainly thankful for all of you, our daily readers and members.
Wishing you not only a very Happy Thanksgiving Day, but more so, a most meaningful and saturated thanksgiving life, in and through Him, whose life and death blesses us for evermore.

This Day's Thought from The Ranch
Best of all is it to preserve everything in a pure, still heart, and let there be for every pulse a thanksgiving, and for every breath a song.
Konrad von Gesner

This Day's Verse
For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
1 Timothy 4:4-5

This Day's Smile
Every little blessing is far too precious to ever forget to say “thank you!”

Dearest Friends in Christ,

With Thanksgiving this coming Thursday, and the beginning of the season of Advent, I thought the Beatitudes a perfect reflection on our Faith and the promises received and believed by that Faith from our Heavenly Father.  Most importantly, Advent celebrates the season of the birthday of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Without Jesus' Passion on the cross, we would have no hope, no blessings, no beatitudes.  Give thanks at this most special time that God gave us a Savior so that none of us should perish, except by choice, but have everlasting life in Paradise.  Which is your favorite? I cannot choose; I love them all.

Bless us all, Everyone,

The Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12)

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.
Blesses are the peacemakers: for they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake: Be glad and rejoice, for your reward is very great in heaven.

Dear Friends in Christ,

I know that my blog has not been up to par, EVER, but at least I did post.  Problem is, I need to give you more of myself and that's a tall order.  But I shall try .....

I met on Twitter a man who lives very far away, but has over time become one of the best friends I have.  I shall call him "Counselor".

Counselor approached me a few months ago when I posted something like this:  "I DON'T WANT POLITICS; I WANT PRAYER!" on Twitter. It caught his eye and next he was a follower, then we exchanged email addresses, and next, he became one of my most honest and beloved friends.  I love him like a brother, a Brother in Christ.  He doesn't pull any punches and he won't let me get by with feeling sorry for myself.  Most of all, he is a Godly man, and he has taken me on as his student in matters of Faith and my shortcomings that needed much attention.  Next thing I knew, we were Skyping, which was terrific. He lives across the Atlantic so it's so cheap to Skype ($.00), I pray the powers that be won't decide to start charging.

But I have digressed.  I am a longtime depression and anxiety patient.  I have seen therapists and psychiatrists over the last 30 years whenever I got into crisis and needed help sorting things out.  My malady must be in the gene pool, although my Father recently said in a telephone conversation, "I don't understand! How does this happen?  I mean, I don't understand it; I've never been depressed a day in my life."  Dad, you are so, so fortunate! So try explaining dopamine and other brain secretions to an 82 year old man.  I imagine back in the "old days", when a person flipped their lid, the men in white suits hauled them off and tied them down, which actually DID drive them crazy.  I cannot imagine life without the medical technology that keeps me sane.  I've gained a lot of weight - medication!  But I cannot come off the medication or I'll, too, flip my lid.

A couple of years ago, I really seized my spirituality and made a personal choice to give God and Jesus Christ my all.  Most of you already know that I am a practicing Roman Catholic.  I started reading everything I could find about God, Jesus, Mary, Joseph, the Gospels, the Passion, The Holy Trinity, and on and on.  I immediately felt awfully guilty, because I truly was not giving God and Jesus Christ, especially, all of my heart, soul and body.  When I realized what I had done over 50 years of my life, well, how do I confess it?  God knows what happened, what I did and what was done to me.  But He made me come TO HIM, instead of the other way around.  I even took a couple of classes at my parish and enjoyed them very much.

Let's get one thing straight:  I am a prayerful person.  I pray every time I think of something that requires or needs it.  I may be mopping the floor, but if the thought of a need for me or someone else comes to mind, I pray as I work.  Some people whistle; I pray.  There is, however, no more fulfilling prayer for me than that which is done on my knees next to my bed when I am alone.  I get emotional sometimes; it's more than merely awesome that it's just me and Him!  I now understand the term used by a lot of Christians - POWERFUL!

When I met Counselor, I had just gone through a horrific trial and I was still reeling.  Counselor does not give up, nor give in.  He's solid as a rock in his faith, and there were times when he would not say what was on his mind for fear of hurting my feelings.  I've done my best to convince him; my feelings should be hurt, if they are.  It is mostly chastising me because I am so very hard on myself.  You know, we are all our own worst critic.  I say, "God forgave me, but I haven't forgiven myself" for a big barrel-full of sins, including denial of him in my youth.  I know, God has forgiven me and I am so very grateful.  But what about ME?  I'm still beating myself up over things that happened over 40 years ago.  Counselor, and I can feel his frustration, is surely tired of going over and over the same thing in email after email.  But he will NOT be deterred!

His fear: hurting moi!  I beg him, "then hurt me, but be honest with me and don't hold back!"  He doesn't or didn't understand, but I think he's catching on.  I NEED THIS!  I told him the other day that he was a better therapist than mine, and he was cheap (FREE!).  So, he wrote this morning and he gave me Lesson One.  That is for me and not anyone else. Leave it there.

I cannot say enough about my Counselor.  He sends me hymns, he writes me prayers in the form of poetry, he is a very loyal servant of God.  Don't think we have not discussed how God put us in one another's paths, except that he was to be there to help me and I am to help him, only I don't know an inch of what he knows miles about me.  He doesn't talk about himself; he asks me questions, questions that provoke much thought and urge me to my Bible, thought and prayer.

I am a much better person for having Counselor around these last few months; however, I recently had a little set-back and he is hammering me about getting control of myself again.  And I give my all to following his advice.

I love God, Jesus Christ, Mary, The Holy Spirit, all the angels and Saints.  I pray to them all for their intercessions for my petitions.  And if you don't think that works, just look at me.  I will always be a work in progress; but, I am headed in the right direction - UP - TO HEAVEN!

As for Counselor, he ain't heavy, he's my brother!

Thirty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time
Lectionary: 159

Reading 1 Mal 3:19-20a

Lo, the day is coming, blazing like an oven,
when all the proud and all evildoers will be stubble,
and the day that is coming will set them on fire,
leaving them neither root nor branch,
says the LORD of hosts.
But for you who fear my name, there will arise
the sun of justice with its healing rays.

Responsorial Psalm Ps 98:5-6, 7-8, 9

R. (cf. 9) The Lord comes to rule the earth with justice.
Sing praise to the LORD with the harp,
with the harp and melodious song.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn
sing joyfully before the King, the LORD.
R. The Lord comes to rule the earth with justice.
Let the sea and what fills it resound,
the world and those who dwell in it;
let the rivers clap their hands,
the mountains shout with them for joy.
R. The Lord comes to rule the earth with justice.
Before the LORD, for he comes,
for he comes to rule the earth,
He will rule the world with justice
and the peoples with equity.
R. The Lord comes to rule the earth with justice.

Reading 2 2 Thes 3:7-12

Brothers and sisters:
You know how one must imitate us.
For we did not act in a disorderly way among you,
nor did we eat food received free from anyone.
On the contrary, in toil and drudgery, night and day
we worked, so as not to burden any of you.
Not that we do not have the right.
Rather, we wanted to present ourselves as a model for you,
so that you might imitate us.
In fact, when we were with you,
we instructed you that if anyone was unwilling to work,
neither should that one eat.
We hear that some are conducting themselves among you in a
disorderly way,
by not keeping busy but minding the business of others.
Such people we instruct and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to work quietly
and to eat their own food.

Gospel Lk 21:5-19

While some people were speaking about
how the temple was adorned with costly stones and votive offerings,
Jesus said, "All that you see here--
the days will come when there will not be left
a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down."

Then they asked him,
"Teacher, when will this happen?
And what sign will there be when all these things are about to happen?"
He answered,
"See that you not be deceived,
for many will come in my name, saying,
'I am he,’ and 'The time has come.’
Do not follow them!
When you hear of wars and insurrections,
do not be terrified; for such things must happen first,
but it will not immediately be the end."
Then he said to them,
"Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
There will be powerful earthquakes, famines, and plagues
from place to place;
and awesome sights and mighty signs will come from the sky.

"Before all this happens, however,
they will seize and persecute you,
they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons,
and they will have you led before kings and governors
because of my name.
It will lead to your giving testimony.
Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand,
for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking
that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute.
You will even be handed over by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends,
and they will put some of you to death.
You will be hated by all because of my name,
but not a hair on your head will be destroyed.
By your perseverance you will secure your lives."

There is great value in every act of forgiveness. It is about letting go, completely and permanently within yourself.

Forgiveness is recognizing the reality that what has happened has already happened, and that there’s no point in allowing it to dominate the rest of your life.  Forgiveness refreshingly cleans the slate and enables you to step forward.

You are ultimately the sole creator of your own feelings.  When negative thoughts arise based on past experiences or future worries, as they sometimes will, realize that these are simply issues your mind (not you) is working through.  Pause, be present and pay close attention.  Think about these thoughts and emotions consciously, almost as if you were a bystander looking in.  Separate yourself from your mind’s thinking.

Perhaps after you study your thoughts and emotions you will think to yourself, “Wow, am I really still working through that?”  And guess what?  Over time, your negative feelings and emotions will lessen and genuine awareness, love and acceptance will grow in their place.  You will begin to realize that your mind is just an instrument, and you are in control of your mind, not the other way around.

By not judging your thoughts or blaming them on anyone else, and merely watching them, there will be a big shift within you – your sense of self worth.

It’s not like you won’t get upset anymore or never feel anxious, but knowing that your thoughts and emotions are just fleeting feelings that are independent of YOU will help ease your tension and increase your positive presence, allowing you to forgive and let go.

This Day's Thought from The Ranch
God is more interested in the workman than in the work.
Warren Wiersbe

This Day's Verse
Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
Ephesians 5:33
The New King James Version

This Day's Smile
The foolish person seeks happiness in the distance; the wise person grows it under his feet.
James Oppenheim

Follow your heart,
never surrender your dreams.
Constantly work towards your goals.
Believe in yourself, and always be truthful.
Take time to enjoy life's pleasures.
Keep your mind open to new experiences.
Think before acting,
but don't forget the joys of spontaneity.
Make your own decisions.
Look out for yourself, but remember
that you share this universe with others.
Look for the good in others,
everybody has their own song to sing.
Live each moment to the fullest,
for a moment too soon becomes a memory.
Look for opportunities, not guarantees.
Hope for the best.
Give people a chance to love you,
for that is how you learn to love.
Live your life for yourself,
but always be considerate of others.
Believe in tomorrow, for it holds the key
to your dreams.

This Day's Smile
The three hardest tasks in the world are neither physical feats nor intellectual achievements, but moral acts: to return love for hate, to include the excluded, and to say, “I was wrong.”

~Sydney J. Harris

Heavenly Father,
I awoke this morning in a bad mood,
and I have been unable to shake it so far.
Everything bothers me and
everyone rubs me the wrong way.
I just cannot seem to get my true bearings.
Help me to think of your salvation,
your countless gifts and overwhelming love for me.
Let me relax and forget life's cares
by placing myself wholly into your hands.
Grant that this mood will soon pass
and I will be able to bask in your love
and communicate it to others.

I just received an audit on my tax return for 2012 from the IRS. It puzzles me!!!
They are questioning how many dependents I claimed.
I guess it was because of my response to the question: "List all dependents?"
I replied: 12 million illegal immigrants; 3 million crack heads;
42 million unemployed people on food stamps,
2 million people in over 243 prisons;
Half of Mexico ; and 535 persons in the U.S. House and Senate."
1 useless President.
Evidently, this was NOT an acceptable answer.

This Day's Thought from The Ranch
Let me entreat you to give up all your efforts after growing, and simply to let yourselves grow. Leave it all to the Husbandman whose care it is, and who alone is able to manage it. No difficulties in your case can baffle Him. If you will only put yourselves absolutely into His hands, and let Him have His own way with you, no dwarfing of your growth in the years that are past, no apparent dryness of your inward springs of life, no crookedness or deformity in your development can in the least mar the perfect work that He will accomplish.
Hannah W. Smith

This Day's Verse
And God, in his mighty power, will make sure that you get there safely to receive it, because you are trusting him. It will be yours in that coming last day for all to see. So be truly glad! There is wonderful joy ahead, even though the going is rough for a while down here. These trials are only to test your faith, to see whether or not it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests gold and purifies it- and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold; so if your faith remains strong after being tried in the test tube of fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day of his return.
1 Peter 1:5-7

This Day's Thought from The Ranch
There are wounds of the spirit which never close and are intended in God’s mercy to bring us nearer to Him, and to prevent us leaving Him by their very perpetuity. Such wounds then may almost be taken as a pledge, or at least as a ground for a humble trust, that God will give us the great gift of perseverance to the end. This is how I comfort myself in my own great bereavements.
John Henry Newman

This Day's Verse
Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
Romans 13:8-10
The English Standard Version

Sunday, November 03, 2013

If I were the Devil . . . I mean, if I were the Prince of Darkness, I would of course, want to engulf the whole earth in darkness. I would have a third of its real estate and four-fifths of its population, but I would not be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree, so I should set about however necessary to take over the United States. I would begin with a campaign of whispers. With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: “Do as you please.” “Do as you please.”   To the young, I would whisper, “The Bible is a myth.” I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around. I would confide that what is bad is good, and what is good is “square”.  In the ears of the young marrieds, I would whisper that work is debasing, that cocktail parties are good for you. I would caution them not to be extreme in religion, in patriotism, in moral conduct. And the old, I would teach to pray. I would teach them to say after me: “Our Father, which art in Washington” . . .

If I were the devil, I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting so that anything else would appear dull an uninteresting. I’d threaten T.V. with dirtier movies and vice versa. And then, if I were the devil, I’d get organized. I’d infiltrate unions and urge more loafing and less work, because idle hands usually work for me. I’d peddle narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. And I’d tranquilize the rest with pills. If I were the devil, I would encourage schools to refine yound intellects but neglect to discipline emotions . . . let those run wild. I would designate an athiest to front for me before the highest courts in the land and I would get preachers to say “she’s right.” With flattery and promises of power, I could get the courts to rule what I construe as against God and in favor of pornography, and  thus, I would evict God from the courthouse, and then from the school house, and then from the houses of Congress and then, in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion, and I would deify science because that way men would become smart enough to create super weapons but not wise enough to control them.

If I were Satan, I’d make the symbol of Easter an egg, and the symbol of Christmas, a bottle. If  I were the devil, I would take from those who have and I would give to those who wanted, until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious. And then, my police state would force everybody back to work. Then, I could separate families, putting children in uniform, women in coal mines, and objectors in slave camps. In other words, if I were Satan, I’d just keep on doing what he’s doing.

I've spoken about the six visionaries from Medjugorje, and in fact, posted today's message from Our Lady to Mirjana Soldo.  I have written about the apparitions, the Ten Secrets, and my own experience at Caritas being the presence of Marija Lunetti when she had her apparition this past July 4th.  I researched several sites regarding the six recognized visionaries and I am still of the mind that they are authentic, and when you read the following, you may understand as I do that these were children when the apparitions began.  Can you envision a child wanting to go to Mass every night and praying for hours, having the apparitions and reciting the content every day for years, well into adulthood; never faltering, never waivering?  I cannot.  I love our heavenly Mother; I talk to her as Mother, which she, herself, told the visionary in Kibeho to do.  She said to "talk to me as you would your mother, for I am the mother of all".  This I do and it brings me much comfort in times of need and despair.  I'll stop talking and let you read about each of the visionaries for yourself.

VickaVicka Ivankovic-Mijatovic

Vicka is the oldest of the visionaries, and was born on September 3, 1964, in Bijakovici. She comes from a family of 8 children. Her prayer mission given to her by Our Lady is to pray for the sick. Our Lady appeared to her for the first time on June 24, 1981. For her, the daily apparitions have not yet stopped. Our Lady has so far confided nine secrets to her. Vicka married on January 26, 2002, and lives with her husband Mario in the small village of Gradac, a few kilometers north of Medjugorje. They have two children Sophia Maria, and Anton.

Vicka: "Before, I prayed from pure habit. Now I've turned completely to prayer. I commit my life completely to God. I feel sorry for those who do not believe in God, because Our Lady wants no one to be lost. We can help each other find the right way to God. It's up to the people to obey the messages and be converted. Great things are happening here: Our Lady is among us. She wishes to attract everyone to Her Son. That's the reason She has been coming so long and so often. Here, everyone feels the nearness and the love of God. As role model and example, Gospa began, in January 1983, to tell me Her life story, which took over two years."

The information Our Lady dictated to Vicka over these two years is contained in two hand written notebooks and will be published when Our Lady tells Vicka it is time.

IvanIvan Dragicevic

Ivan is the oldest of the two boys who see Our Lady and was born on May 25th, 1965 in Bijakovici. His prayer mission given by Our Lady is to pray for priests, families, and the youth of the world. Although Ivan and Mirjana share the same last name, they are not related.

Our Lady has appeared to him every day since June 24, 1981. Our Lady has confided nine secrets to Ivan. He is now married and resides half the year in the parish of Medjugorje, and half the year in Boston, MA. Ivan and his wife Laureen have four children.

Ivan: "The apparitions made a big difference in my life - the difference between heaven and earth. For example, I arrange my day now so that even during the day I find time to pray. Before, my life had no meaning. Now, I'm filled with inner contentment. The first time I saw Our Lady, a change occurred in my soul, and in my heart. Before, I often avoided prayer, but now the difference is so great, I really can't describe it. I'm confident and not afraid, because I know who leads me, and therefore, I'm not afraid of death. People in our parish, and all people, should feel that way."

MirjanaMirjana Dragicevic-Soldo

Mirjana was born March 18th, 1965 in Sarajevo. Her prayer mission from Our Lady is to pray for all unbelievers. She is the second oldest of the seers. Very intelligent, Mirjana graduated from the University of Sarajevo where her family lived. Mirjana was the second to see the Blessed Mother that day, June 24th in Medjugorje. Although her family lived in Sarajevo, she spent the summers with her grandmother who lived in Bijakovici. That is how she came to be in Medjugorje that summer. She had daily apparitions from June 24, 1981 till December 25, 1982. On this date, Mirjana received her 10th and final secret from Our Lady. Mirjana was the first seer to receive all 10 secrets. Since that time, Our Lady only appeared to Mirjana once a year on her birthday (March 18) until August 2, 1987 when Our Lady also started appearing to Mirjana on the 2nd day of each month to pray with Mirjana for all unbelievers. Mirjana tells us that Our Lady defines "unbelievers" as those who have not yet felt God's love. She tells us that if we only once saw the tears in Our Lady's eyes for all unbelievers that we would all begin praying intensely for this intention. Mirjana lives in Medjugorje with her husband Marko Soldo. They have two daughters.

Mirjana: "I didn't know Marian apparitions existed. I never heard about Lourdes or Fatima. The first day Ivanka had the vision of Our Lady, she was full of enthusiasm and wanted me to look too. I thought: "This can't be real!" But, Our Lady gave us strength to accept Her as a Mother. I've changed a lot. I realize how empty my heart was. Now, I truly feel God, the Mother of God, and the faith. My relationship with Our Lady has become one of a mother and daughter. Jesus is like a friend, or an older brother. Whoever believes in God, and opens himself up to God, needn't be afraid. God will be with him in the future too. If everyone believed in God, there'd be no war."
IvankaIvanka Ivankovic-Elez

Ivanka was the first to see Our Lady on June 24, 1981, and is the youngest of the 4 girls and was born on July 21, 1966, in Bijakovici. Ivanka's prayer mission from Our Lady is to pray for families. Ivanka has one brother and one sister. Her Mother Jagoda, died in May 1981. When the apparitions first began, Ivanka asked the Blessed Mother about her mother. Our Lady told her that her mother was with her in heaven. God has allowed Ivanka to see and speak to her mother, who is in heaven, five times over the years.

She had daily apparitions from June 24, 1981, until May 7, 1985. On that day Our Lady confided to her the last of her ten secrets. Our Lady told her that for her entire life she will have an apparition every year on June 25, the anniversary of the apparitions. And so far it has been just that way. Ivanka is living in the parish of Medjugorje, is married and has three children.

Ivanka: "When the apparitions began, I was only a child. I prayed and went to church when my parents asked me to. Now when I pray, I feel united with God and Our Lady. Before, when I went to Mass, I didn't feel anything special. Now, I know God is alive at the Holy Mass and gives Himself completely to us in the Host. Concerning my own future, I leave it completely to God - my path will go in the direction God leads me. I have some advice for young people: I want to tell them to turn to God as soon as possible because He's the only one who can lead them to happiness and truth. We simply must pray more and live the messages of Medjugorje."
JakovJakov Colo

Jakov is the youngest of the seers. He was born on March 6, 1971 in Bijakovici, and was only 10 years old when the apparitions started. His prayer mission given by Our Lady is to pray for the sick. Jakovs' mother Jaca, died on September 5th 1983 and it affected Jakov very deeply since he rarely saw his father who worked in Germany as many men did in those days with no jobs available in Medjugorje or the surrounding area.

He has had daily apparitions since June 25, 1981, and on September 12, 1998, Our Lady confided to him his 10th secret. Our Lady now appears to Jakov only once per year on Christmas Day. Our Lady literally raised Jakov since his mother died when he was so young. It was very difficult for him to accept that he would no longer see Our Lady every day. He wondered how he would continue, and struggled for months until he tells us that through prayer he realized that he was now like all of us who do not see Our Lady. He tells us that Our Lady is with each one of us always, and we can experience her in our hearts. Jakov lives in the parish of Medjugorje, is married and now has three children.

In the early years, the presence of the young fidgety boy among the group of seers is special in terms of the authenticity of the apparitions. It was highly improbable that he would come to church for two to three hours of prayer every single day, in winter as well as in summer, in bad weather as well as in good, and for well over three years, simply to make believe that he is seeing the Blessed Virgin.

Jakov: "From the time Our Lady first appeared to me, my life has entirely changed. Now, I pray more and go to Mass every evening. I try, more and more, to fulfill the messages that Our Lady gives us. I feel I'm closer to God now. I believe we have to pray that God's plans will be realized. I now want to live as a Christian. I begin the day with prayer, then go to school. when I get home, I help wherever necessary. To me, the Mass means an encounter with the living God. Our Lady always tells us to pray more."
MarijaMarija Pavlovic-Lunetti

Marija is the third oldest of the visionaries. She was born on April 1, 1965, in Bijakovici. Her prayer mission given by Our Lady is to pray for all the souls in purgatory. She has three brothers and two sisters. When the apparitions started, she was studying in Mostar which is about eighteen miles away from Medjugorje.

Our Lady appeared to her for the first time on June 25, 1981. She still has apparitions every day, and is the visionary to whom Our Lady gives the public message to the world on the 25th of each month. Our Lady has confided nine secrets to her so far. Marija is presently living in Italy, is married, and has four children. She visits Medjugorje a number of times each year.

Marija: "Everything has changed in Medjugorje. People started to pray and listen to Our Lady's messages. Before, I didn't pray enough. Now I want to pray more and more. I'm sure God gives much to everyone who's open to prayer. I tell people they should pray more, and Our Lady will give them peace in all that burdens them. It's not I, it's Our Lady who urges us to nurture prayer, to propagate peace, and to fast. She says that everyone who comes to Medjugorje, must be converted. They must encourage other people too, to pray and fast. God wishes us to pray and fast. God wishes to develop the parish and make it grow more and more in faith. If people accept the messages, God will lead them."
You may recall that I spoke of Marija Lunetti's stare that occurred at Caritas.  The apparition was over.  Familiar people were greeting her, including a priest whom she hugged and appeared very happy to see. Then, the group was thinning out and she turned away from my direction (I was standing at this point and looking at her), but suddenly she stopped, turned back and looked me directly in the eyes. We held that locking of eyes for several seconds.  I was frozen by her eyes. She looked very serious, very concerned - at least that is how I saw it.  This memory has stayed with me and I do wonder why she looked at me with such concern in her eyes.  I may never know, and I will leave it there.

One more observation.  Prayer is ESSENTIAL to having a relationship with God and Jesus Christ.  We are all so busy with our lives and we do not make time for prayer! This is the basic message of Our Lady in every apparition.  "Pray, pray, pray", she says.  "Come to conversion before it's too late," she says.  Our Lady loves each one of us and wants us all to come to Heaven.  This is her mission from heaven, and she is doing it with and for her son, Jesus Christ. I believe if you stop and think about it, there are probably several times in your daily routine where you could pray instead of doing something else.  You MUST make time for prayer; you MUST have a personal relationship with the Father and the Son; you MUST listen for Him and follow where He leads you.  How very blessed you will be!

Thank you for coming and reading about the Medjugorje visionaries.  I believe the apparitions are real, that Our Lady is working for the better through them, and she is desperate to win souls to Christ.  This because those who do not know him and do not know God, face a very grave circumstance in the end.  May God bless you and keep you, and may you hold the Holy Trinity in your heart every minute of every day.  God bless you!

This goes to show you that a band can stay together for over 30 years and sound just as tight as the day they became famous!  I have the DVD of this concert and it is amazing!  And as you know .... I only post the ones that I love most!

Nov 2, 2013 Message to Mirjana

Today, November 2, 2013, Our Lady appeared to the visionary Mirjana in Medjugorje and delivered the following message:

“Dear children; Anew, in a motherly way, I am calling you to love; to continually pray for the gift of love; to love the Heavenly Father above everything. When you love Him you will love yourself and your neighbor. This cannot be separated. The Heavenly Father is in each person. He loves each person and calls each person by his name. Therefore, my children, through prayer hearken to the will of the Heavenly Father. Converse with Him. Have a personal relationship with the Father which will deepen even more your relationship as a community of my children- of my apostles. As a mother I desire that, through the love for the Heavenly Father, you may be raised above earthly vanities and may help others to gradually come to know and come closer to the Heavenly Father. My children, pray, pray, pray for the gift of love because ‘love’ is my Son. Pray for your shepherds that they may always have love for you as my Son had and showed by giving His life for your salvation. Thank you”

This is one of the most profound and lengthy messages Our Lady has given to Mirjana in a while.  But like all of her messages, she urges LOVE!  Love is Jesus and Jesus is Christ.  Open your hearts and let Jesus show through in the way that you live your life.  In this way, you will bring lost souls to Him, and you will also make Jesus and God very happy, as well as our Blessed Mother.

And speaking of our Blessed Mother, you must talk to her as if she were your earthly mother.  She receives great joy in her earthly children coming to her, whether it be to say the Rosary, or to just talk to her about a problem, or most importantly, just please tell her "I love you, Mother."  It is she who is bringing these messages with the permission of the Son in order to convert as many souls as she can before the end of time.

I have to say that I keep a statue gifted to me by my precious daughter of the Holy Mother sitting where it can be seen and I look at her, study her and try to imagine her in heaven. And a little tear of happiness comes to my eye because I know that SHE knows I am sending all of my love and thanksgiving to her.  I DO LOVE YOU, MOTHER! And I pledge to live my life with LOVE and pray even one soul sees it in me and they come to the Son because of it.  Amen.
