On this day, God wants you to know ...

... that today is a whole day for you to do good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a whole day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; and in its place will be something that you had left behind... let it be something good.

On this day, God wants you to know ...

... that working together is good. We are meant to support one another in this world. Let go of the feeling that you have to do everything alone. Ask someone if they want to join you.

THIS DAY'S . . .

We have no control over how we feel, how we act- our attitudes, and actions- except as they are determined by our thoughts. All these elements are irrevocably tied together. But since we do have control over what we think, it is possible to control our attitudes and actions…All thoughts can be divided into two basic categories: true and false. The thoughts that come from God are true. He is the God of all truth and has sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and to guide us into all truth. If I can receive God’s thoughts, I can think the truth. Therefore I will have the right attitudes and actions. How do you get the air out of a glass? By filling it with water. How do you get rid of wrong and untrue thoughts? By filling your mind with true and right thoughts from God. The control of our thought life, then, comes by thinking God’s thoughts with Him.

THIS DAY'S . . .

Faith is the avenue to salvation. Not intellectual understanding. Not money. Not your works. Just simple faith. How much faith? The faith of a mustard seed, so small you can hardly see it. But if you will put that little faith in the person of Jesus, your life will be changed. He will come with supernatural power into your heart. It can happen to you.

~Billy Graham

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

Psalm 95:1-5

To be able to find joy in another's joy, that is the secret of happiness.

holy bible live by the word
The readings for today reiterate what the Blessed Mother has been conveying to the visionaries for the benefit of the entire World for centuries.  We cannot live a Biblical life for only a moment or hour, day or week or month. Living our lives in Christ will be our testament, and people will see God in you and your ways. As you read today's readings, keep in mind that the Queen of Peace is using these very words in her plea to save all sinners and have them come to the Cross.

Reading 1, Am 6:1a, 4-7

1 Disaster for those so comfortable in Zion and for those so confident on the hill of Samaria, the notables of this first of nations, those to whom the House of Israel has recourse!

4 Lying on ivory beds and sprawling on their divans, they dine on lambs from the flock, and stall-fattened veal;

5 they bawl to the sound of the lyre and, like David, they invent musical instruments;

6 they drink wine by the bowlful, and lard themselves with the finest oils, but for the ruin of Joseph they care nothing.

7 That is why they will now go into captivity, heading the column of captives. The sprawlers' revelry is over.

Gospel, Lk 16:19-31

19 'There was a rich man who used to dress in purple and fine linen and feast magnificently every day.

20 And at his gate there used to lie a poor man called Lazarus, covered with sores,

21 who longed to fill himself with what fell from the rich man's table. Even dogs came and licked his sores.

22 Now it happened that the poor man died and was carried away by the angels into Abraham's embrace. The rich man also died and was buried.

23 'In his torment in Hades he looked up and saw Abraham a long way off with Lazarus in his embrace.

24 So he cried out, "Father Abraham, pity me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in agony in these flames."

25 Abraham said, "My son, remember that during your life you had your fill of good things, just as Lazarus his fill of bad. Now he is being comforted here while you are in agony.

26 But that is not all: between us and you a great gulf has been fixed, to prevent those who want to cross from our side to yours or from your side to ours."

27 'So he said, "Father, I beg you then to send Lazarus to my father's house,

28 since I have five brothers, to give them warning so that they do not come to this place of torment too."

29 Abraham said, "They have Moses and the prophets, let them listen to them."

30 The rich man replied, "Ah no, father Abraham, but if someone comes to them from the dead, they will repent."

31 Then Abraham said to him, "If they will not listen either to Moses or to the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone should rise from the dead."

Reading 2, 1 Tm 6:11-16

11 But, as someone dedicated to God, avoid all that. You must aim to be upright and religious, filled with faith and love, perseverance and gentleness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith and win the eternal life to which you were called and for which you made your noble profession of faith before many witnesses.

13 Now, before God, the source of all life, and before Jesus Christ, who witnessed to his noble profession of faith before Pontius Pilate, I charge you

14 to do all that you have been told, with no faults or failures, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15 who at the due time will be revealed by God, the blessed and only Ruler of all, the King of kings and the Lord of lords,

16 who alone is immortal, whose home is in inaccessible light, whom no human being has seen or is able to see: to him be honour and everlasting power. Amen.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jack Lalanne! He is 96 years young today! I remember that, as a child and even though I didn't need the exercise, I LOVED watching Mr. Lalanne on television.  Now I could really use him!  He is an amazing man and an American icon.

The Blessed Mother's Message to Marija To Share With The World

Today, September 25, 2010, Our Lady appeared to the visionary Marija, giving her this message for the world:

"Dear children! Today I am with you and bless you all with my motherly blessing of peace, and I urge you to live your life of faith even more, because you are still weak and are not humble. I urge you, little children, to speak less and to work more on your personal conversion so that your witness may be fruitful. And may your life be unceasing prayer. Thank you for having responded to my call."

I AM . . .

. . . feeling a bit under the weather and hoping it is just a minor tummy virus that will pass soon! Wishing everyone a joyful and blessed weekend, and I hope that your team wins, whoeveer it is.  Ours are the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Texas Longhorns, Texas Tech and the Dallas Cowboys!  Scroll on down because I have posted today's HEARTLIGHT!

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

~1 John 2:1

God hates sin. Don't you? I know I do. But isn't it amazing how we'll fall back into the same old traps again and again. This is where John, the tender Shepherd that he was, hits the nail on thehead. The goal is to not sin even one sin. But, knowing our struggle against the flesh, John also gives assurance to those of us trying to live faithful and pure lives. He wants us to know that when we do sin, the Sacrifice for our sins, God's Son, is also our defense attorney who proclaims us sinless by his blood! So let's draw close to Christ. Lt's invite him into our hearts each morning as we begin the day. Let's trust in his power and grace to sustain us and carry us through. When we do, he will!

God, no one and nothing is like you. I did not have to provide the sacrifice for my sins. Even though my sins broke your heart, you provided that sacrifice. Please use me today, and each day to come, as I try to give myself, my life, and my future back to you as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to you as I try to say thank you for your grace. Through Jesus, and in his name I pray. Amen.

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

~Hebrews 10:35-36

There are some tough times that go with living. They're inescapable. That's when our confidence in the Lord's salvation and our relationship with him get tested! It is one thing to sing "it is well with my soul" at the end of a peel-the-paint and raise-the-roof worship service, but it is quite another to be able to sing it when they auction your house off at the courthouse steps, you are told you have a long-term debilitating illness, or you lose a child to death. Faith can't take a holiday when we travel through the suburbs of hell or we'll never find our way out. So don't throw it away. Persevere! Keep putting one foot in front of the other trusting that God will give you the strength for the next step. No matter how hard it is at the moment, don’t give up to despair. Be like Job or Jeremiah who both argued and complained to God, but never let go of God. Don't quit. Christ is coming for you with grace and in glory. His return is just around the bend and could break into our world at any time.

Holy and Almighty God, today is a good day. However, I am profoundly aware that some of those I love are close to throwing away their confidence in your love, mercy, grace, peace, and deliverance. Please use me to encourage them. Even more, dear Father, I ask that you use your Holy Spirit to renew their hearts. I pray that you intervene directly to change the course of events and give them relief and make your gracious presence known to them. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Following are three sites where you can begin your own research on the Marian Apparitions.  If you're like me, each site has tons of other links and you can spend days on this one topic.  Personally, I BELIEVE and I am not embarrassed to say it loud enough for the entire world to hear. If I could reach the entire world, I would still not be able to bring every single person on earth to conversion. Therefore, in my mind, I anticipate the prophecies being fulfilled, and I am feeling more every day that it will be in my lifetime.  I would rather BELIEVE and HOPE in the promises of the hereafter, that to scoff and live a life of sin, only to find out when that life is over that there IS a hereafter and have no place to go but to the eternal fires of hell.  Satan is EVERYWHERE!  He posed this to our Heavenly Father: "give me one chance to destroy Your church" - as a challenge.  The Lord has given satan full latitude to try and bring the Children of God into his evil web.  What will you do?

THIS DAY'S . . .

From the greatest of all gifts, salvation in Christ, to the material blessings of any ordinary day (hot water, a pair of legs that work, a cup of coffee, a job to do and strength to do it), every good gift comes down from the Father of Lights. Every one of them is to be received gladly and, like gifts people give us, with thanks. Sometimes we want things we were not meant to have. Because He loves us, the Father says no. Faith trusts that no. Faith is willing not to have what God is not willing to give. Furthermore, faith does not insist upon an explanation. It is enough to know His promise to give what is good- He knows so much more about that than we do.

~Elizabeth Elliot

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Dear Friends in Christ: The time to come to conversion is NOW!  Only through prayer, conversion and reconciliation will those who have come to complete conversion be spared great wrath and times of suffering.

The Story

The message of impending disaster allegedly revealed at Garabandal was repeated, with more detail, in Yugoslavia a decade later. In June 1981, six young people from the mountain village of Medjugorje reportedly encountered Mary near the top of Mount Podbrdo, a small mountain located in central Yugoslavia. In a series of apparitions that still continues, but with much less frequency, she reportedly sent a message of faith, prayer, fasting, conversion and peace. In these apparitions Mary said she came to bring humanity back to her Son; and warned that Satan is especially active in these times and that it was necessary to pray fervently and often to ward off his advances.

During the early 1980s, Medjugorje became well known initially throughout Europe, with newspaper reports in Le Monde and the Financial Times; by the late '80s it had become known throughout the world. As a result of its growing fame, more than ten million pilgrims had visited it by the tenth anniversary of the first apparition. On the tenth anniversary, conflict broke out among the Bosnian Serbs and Croats. Despite this conflict, thousands of pilgrims still manage to make the dangerous journey to Medjugorje each year.

Since the apparitions have lasted for such a long time, it has been possible to subject the visionaries to a number of medical, physical and psychological tests. Physiological and psychological tests showed them to be bright, well-adjusted teenagers.

In the reports of her appearances here, Mary is said to ask each of us to become aware of the active and destructive role that Satan plays in the modern world and to protect ourselves against Satan's actions. To emphasize the urgency of her requests, she will entrust each of the visionaries with ten secrets detailing the events that will transpire if humanity fails to correct itself. At this time (1997), two of the visionaries have received the ten secrets. The remaining visionaries have received nine. She has also told the visionaries that when the apparitions cease at Medjugorje, they will cease at all other Marian apparition sites. When this occurs, the events described in the secrets will begin to unfold.

The Secrets

The ten secrets of Medjugorje appear to be a continuation of the Fatima Secrets and are similar in general character to the secrets described at Garabandal. A report sent from the Bishop of Mostar to the Pope stated, "According to Mirjana, during the apparition on December 25, 1982, the Madonna confided the tenth and last secret to her, and she revealed the dates on which the various secrets will come to pass. The Blessed Virgin revealed many aspects of the future to Mirjana, many more up to now than to the other seers. For that reason, I relate now what Mirjana told me in a conversation on November 5, 1983 I shall summarize the essential things she said, without any literal quotations. Before the visible sign is given to humanity, there will be three warnings to the world. The warnings will be warnings on the earth. Mirjana will witness them. Three days before one of these warnings, she will advise a priest of her choice. Mirjana's testimony will be a confirmation of the apparitions and an incentive for the conversion of the world. After these warnings, the visible sign will be given for all humanity at the place of the apparitions in Medjugorje. The sign will be given as the testimony of the apparitions and a call back to faith."

The Bishop's letter continued, "The ninth and tenth secrets are grave matters. They are a chastisement for the sins of the world. The punishment is inevitable because we cannot expect the conversion of the entire world. The chastisement can be mitigated by prayers and penance. It cannot be suppressed. After the first warning, the others will follow within a rather brief period of time. So it is that people will have time for conversion. This time is a period of grace and conversion. After the visible sign, those who are still alive will have little time for conversion. For that reason, the Blessed Virgin calls for urgent conversion and reconciliation. The invitation to prayer and penance is destined to ward off evil and war and above all to save souls. We are close to the events predicted by the Blessed Virgin. Convert yourselves as quickly as possible. Open your hearts to God. This is a message to all mankind."

In addition to these remarks, one Father Tomislav added the following observations in August, 1983, "They say that, with the realization of the secrets entrusted to them by Our Lady, life in the world will change. Afterwards, men will believe like in ancient times. What will change and how it will change, we don't know, given that the seers don't want to say anything about the secrets."

A further clarification of the character of the initial secrets came from a series of interviews conducted by Janice Connell several years after Father Tomislav's report. In her interview with Marijana, she asked for any additional information about the secrets that Marijana was permitted to disclose. Marijana responded, "The first two secrets will be warnings to the world -- events that will occur before a visible sign is given to humanity. These will happen in my lifetime. Ten days before the first secret and the second secret, I will notify Father Petar Ljubicic. He will pray and fast for seven days, and then he will announce these to the world."

The most troubling aspect of the apparitions at Garabandal and Medjugorje, aside from their marathon duration, is the predestination implied in the warning messages. Unlike previous apparitions, there is no contingency clause to the prophecies such as "Unless men convert..." The visionaries say that they know NOW the dates when each of these events will occur.

For example, at Garabandal Our Lady reportedly stated that the Miracle will occur on a Thursday evening at 8:30 p.m. (Garabandal time) between the 8th and 16th of either March, April or May. The Miracle will coincide with an important event in the Church and on a feast day of a martyr of the Eucharist. Russia will finally be converted after the Miracle occurs.

The Lady has promised to leave a visible sign on the mountain where she first appeared. "This sign will be given for the atheists. You faithful already have signs, and you have become the sign for the atheists. You faithful must not wait for the sign before you convert; convert soon. This time is a time of grace for you. You can never thank God enough for His grace. The time is for deepening your faith and for your conversion. When the sign comes, it will be too late for many."

There will then be three warnings given to the world, and they will be visibile on earth. Mirjana will hear of them beforehand. Three days before one of these warnings, she will advise a priest of her choice (Father Pero Ljubicic), who will then announce what, where, and when the warning is to take place. Mirjana's testimony will be a confirmation of the validity of the apparitions and an incentive for the conversion of the world. After the first warning, the others will follow within a rather brief period of time. After the three warnings, the permanent visible sign will be left on the mountain where The Lady first appeared in Medjugorje. Those who are still alive will have little time for conversion.

The ninth and tenth secrets are grave matters. They are a chastisement for the sins of the world. The punishment is inevitable because we can not expect the conversion of the entire world. The chastisement can be lessened by prayers and penance, but it can not be suppressed entirely. An evil which threatened the world according to the seventh secret, had been eliminated through prayer and fasting. For that reason the Blessed Virgin continues to ask for prayer and fasting. The invitation to prayer and penance is destined to ward off evil and war and above all to save souls. Our Lady says, "You have forgotten that with prayer and fasting you can ward off wars, suspend natural laws."

THIS DAY'S . . .

Wouldn't this be loverly?

In his life Christ is an example, showing us how to live; in his death he is a sacrifice, satisfying for our sins; in his resurrection, a conqueror; in his ascension, a king; in his intercession, a high priest.

~Martin Luther

May God who gives patience, steadiness, and encouragement help you to live in complete harmony with each other - each with the attitude of Christ toward the other. And then all of us can praise the Lord together with one voice, giving glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

~Romans 15:5-6

On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know ...

... that when you feel down, look at yourself through God's eyes.  There are times when no matter how hard you try, you just cannot accept yourself as you are. During such times, think of how you look to God's eyes. In God's eyes, there is no judgment, there is only acceptance. God sees your light when all that you can see are your shadows. God loves you more than anyone could ever love you as you really are.

Can you pray for an atheist, more specifically, a dying atheist? Is selective prayer wrong?  I believe it is. According to the Laws of God, you can and are commanded to pray for your enemies and those misfortunate lost souls.  I consider atheists "less fortunate" because they obviously don't have enough sense to hold onto something that they cannot see, but must believe by faith alone, using all kinds of "scientific" reasons to support their choice to believe that life evolved and death is the end, the black hole, it's over, you're gone, nothingness ensues. Will prayer make a difference? It may change only your own life, but prayer is never a lost cause.

Be blessed as you read,

Atheist Hitchens skipping prayer day in his honor
Associated Press Writer
Monday, September 20, 5:48 am ET

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Stricken with cancer and fragile from chemotherapy, author and outspoken atheist Christopher Hitchens sits in an armchair before an audience and waits for the only question that can come first at such a time.

"How's your health?" asks Larry Taunton, a friend who heads an Alabama-based group dedicated to defending Christianity.

"Well, I'm dying, since you asked, but so are you. I'm only doing it more rapidly," replies Hitchens, his grin faint and his voice weak and raspy. Only wisps of his dark hair remain; clothes hang on his frame.

The writer best known to believers for his 2007 book "God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything" has esophageal cancer, the same disease that killed his father. He is fighting it, but the 62-year-old Hitchens is realistic: At the very best, he says, his life will be shortened.

For some of his critics, it might be satisfying to see a man who has made a career of skewering organized religion switch sides near the end of his life and pray silently for help fighting a ravaging disease.

He has an opportunity: Monday has been informally proclaimed "Everybody Pray for Hitchens Day."

Christopher Hitchens won't be bowing his head, even on a day set aside just for him.

"I shall not be participating," he said in an interview with The Associated Press.

Hitchens was diagnosed with cancer in June, forcing him to cancel a tour to promote his new book, "Hitch-22: A Memoir." He took time off from work as chemo treatments began but recently published the first of what is intended to be a series of essays in Vanity Fair magazine about his diagnosis.

On Sept. 7, he visited Birmingham for his first public appearance since the diagnosis, a debate against David Berlinski, author of "The Devil's Delusion: Atheism and Its Scientific Pretensions." They argued over the implications of a purely secular society before a crowd of about 1,200 in an event sponsored by Fixed Point Foundation, the Christian apologetics group headed by Taunton.

Taunton is devoutly Christian yet has developed a fast friendship with Hitchens, who appeared at a similar debate sponsored by the organization last year. Taunton is among those praying for Hitchens, and Hitchens takes no offense.

The way the English-born Hitchens sees it, the people praying for him break down into three basic groups: those who seem genuinely glad he's suffering and dying from cancer; those who want him to become a believer in their religious faith; and those who are asking God to heal him.

Hitchens has no use for that first group. "'To hell with you' is the response to the ones who pray for me to go to hell," Hitchens told AP.

He's ruling out the idea of a deathbed change of heart: "'Thanks but no thanks' is the reply to those who want me to convert and recognize a divinity or deity."

It's that third group — people who are asking God for Hitchens' healing — that causes Hitchens to choose his words even more carefully than normal. Are those prayers OK? Are they helpful?

"I say it's fine by me, I think of it as a nice gesture. And it may well make them feel better, which is a good thing in itself," says Hitchens.

But prayers for his healing don't make him feel better.

"Well, not any more than very large numbers of very kind, thoughtful letters from nonbelievers, some of whom know me, some of whom don't, asking me to know that they are on my side," Hitchens said. "That cheers me up, yes."

Hitchens doesn't know exactly how "Everybody Pray for Hitchens Day" began, other than that it's one of those things that appears on the Internet and goes viral. He declined an invitation to appear at a rabbi's prayer service in Washington that day, and he doesn't see any point in the exercise.

"I'm perfectly sure that there is nothing to be gained from it in point of my health, but perhaps I shouldn't even say that. If it would do something for my morale possibly it would do something for my health. We all know that morale is an element in recovery," he said. "But incantations, I don't think, have any effect on the material world."

The National Cancer Institute says esophageal cancer affects about 16,500 Americans each year, almost 80 percent of them men. Smoking and drinking alcohol regularly increase the risk of the disease; Hitchens does both.

The cancer that began in Hitchens' esophagus already has spread into the lymph nodes in his neck, and he fears it has reached a lung. He's visibly tired after a book signing and luncheon appearance and says he needs to rest, even though resting seems like such a waste of time when so little time may be left.

Already into his fourth round of chemotherapy, which he is receiving every three weeks, Hitchens says it's difficult to gauge his eventual legacy. He hopes to be remembered with affection by some; with passion by others; and hopefully as a good father by his three children.

As for his work, Hitchens says he would be happy to be recalled simply as one of those "who are attempting to uphold reason and science against superstition."

"I'd be proud to have my contribution at that," Hitchens said. "This is a very long, long, long story. It's humanity's oldest argument. If I played a small part in keeping it going that would be enough for me."

Have you said your Rosary today?

Faith faces everything that makes the world uncomfortable- pain, fear, loneliness, shame, death- and acts with a compassion by which these things are transformed, even exalted.

~Samuel H. Miller

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

~Matthew 6:24

A story is told about Daniel Webster. During his days in the city of Washington the great statesman attended worship regularly in a little rural church outside the city. Some of his colleagues were disturbed about it. They said it lacked prestige. And they asked him why he attended a little church in the sticks when he would be welcome in the more fashionable churches in Washington. Webster answered that when he attended church in Washington they preached to Daniel Webster, the statesman, but in the little church, they preached to Daniel Webster, the sinner.

I can totally get into this message, especially the part about taking time to restore one's spirit.  It is so easy to get out of sync and suddenly realize that your spiritual self has been lacking the nourishment it requires!  Thank you, Father, for opening my eyes.

... that if you feel too busy, you are. Give yourself permission to be un-busy. Give yourself an hour or a day to simply be. Allow yourself the luxury of a small retreat. Allow your spirit time to be restored. Even God took a day of rest.

I received today an email from Queen of Peace Productions which contained an invitation to join the visionary Jakov Colo in Medjugorje on Christmas Day, the day in which the "Virgin Mary" appears each year to Jakov Colo, and sends the message of Jesus to the world.  I have, in the past, referred to Jesus' mother as "the Blessed Mother"; however, in the first apparition in Portugal in 1917, when asked by the children "who are you?", the Blessed Mother told them that she was "the Virgin Mary".

This 1917 file photo shows the three Portuguese shepherd children Lucia Dos Santos (C) and her cousins Jacinta (L) and Francisco Marto. The Virgin Mary was said to have appeared to the children in 1917 and given them three messages — one about the end of WW I, one other about Russia, and a third “secret” that the Vatican never revealed. Francisco and Jacinta died in 1919 and 1920, and Lucia is a 93-year-old nun. Pope John Paul beatified Jacinta and Francisco in May 2000 during his visit to Fatima. Agence France Presse.

I clicked on the link in order to review the video of one of Jakov's Christmas Day apparitions.  Before I knew it, I was on YouTube where many videos of the apparitions and public interviews of Jakov, Mirjana and Ivan appeared.  These were all translated into English by an interpreter.  I was captivated watching them speak and hearing the news that they shared at the instruction of the Virgin Mary.

If you are moved as I was to learn more about this subject, you can start your research HERE

I feel a very powerful urging at this moment, and it has lead me here, to my blog, to share the thoughts and feelings that have evolved through my study of these miraculous events and interviews.

The Virgin Mary has sent the message of her Son, Jesus Christ, hundreds of times.  It changes not, but continually tells us that the ONLY way to salvation is through her Son, Jesus Christ.  The messages she brings, she has said, are sent by Jesus with his blessing through her.  The Virgin Mary is worried for those who have not come to conversion and she continues to encourage the people of this world to come to the cross.

Mirjana was subjected to ecclesiastic inquiry, which took two full days.  She says she was tested by a "lie detector", was hypnotized and had all kinds of wires attached to her body.  The end conclusion was that Mirjana did, in fact, experience the sight of something "supernatural" with her own eyes.

I pray that you will take time to research the videos and information that is available on the internet, and I also pray that if you have not come to conversion, that your heart will change and you will accept the way of salvation NOW.

The Virgin Mary expresses deep concern for the world and all the troubles and evil that is rampant.  She strongly encourages each of us in this direction.  She expresses her deep love for us and desires all children find their way to salvation through Jesus Christ.

Following is the text and links contained in the email I received from Queen of Peace productions today.  With my deepest love for the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, I beg your attention to this most dire request.  I pray that each of you will be blessed and moved by the Virgin Mary's messages, just as I have been.  My eyes have been opened wide; I see what is coming in our future; and I know that this is the ONLY and TRUE path to salvation.

Greetings from Medjugorje!

Once a year, on Christmas day, Jakov Colo experiences his annual apparition, and this year you can be there with him.

Christmas is fast approaching, and the Croatian Mir Center has some spaces left on the Christmas pilgrimage to Medjugorje for Jakov's annual apparition, taking place from December 21-29, 2010.

All year long, Jakov, the youngest of the six Medjugorje visionaries, waits eagerly for Christmas, the one day of the year on which Our Lady promised to appear to him after he experienced his last daily apparition on September 11, 1998. (click here to read more about that)

Christmas is a magical time in Medjugorje, so please consider joining us for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend Christmas day with the Blessed Mother. Children and families are welcome.

We filmed a documentary video when we stayed with Jakov last Christmas. Titled CHRISTMAS IN MEDJUGORJE, it contains an exclusive interview with Jakov as well as footage of his apparition.

You can also see Jakov's apparition HERE.

"Astronomical Happenings Stir the Web"

I love the heavens.  They stir my imagination, but mostly, bring about a ton of questions that probably won't be answered, except and until I reach God's Kingdom where all questions will be answered.  Nice article; enjoy!

Halley's Comet, Jupiter, and Space Tourism: Buzz Week in Review
by Mike Krumboltz

Today's fun fact: The universe is big. Like, really big. And because it's so darn big, a lot of cool stuff is bound to happen inside it, right? Right! This past week, astronomers made a wild new discovery concerning Halley's comet, folks prepared to see another planet up close, and the possibilities of space tourism took off. Below, a roundup of those stories and more. Prepare for lift off — it's the Buzz Week in Review.

The history of Halley's comet
This week, a new study found that Halley's comet was probably spotted by ancient Greeks in 466 B.C. Previous estimates had its first "documented observation" about 200 years later.

News of the study pushed Web searches on "halley's comet pictures" and "who named halley's comet." An excellent article from explains that the comet is named after English astronomer Edmond Halley. He successfully predicted that it would appear in 1758, and when it did, the comet was given his name.

Researchers looked back on ancient documents and concluded that it's likely that the asteroid the Greeks wrote about was actually our old friend Halley. As for those of us around today, Halley's comet was last seen in 1986, and won't be seen again until 2061. Plenty of time to get your telescopes ready.

Jupiter up close and personal
This coming Monday, the solar system's largest planet will pass within 368 million miles of our home. It's been almost 50 years since Jupiter has been this close to Earth.

A buzzy article from the AP explains that the planet already looks like "an incredibly bright star." In fact, the only thing that appears brighter "in the night sky right now is our moon." By Monday, Jupiter should be even more visible, but "binoculars and telescopes will dramatically improve the view."

Web searchers are already aware of Jupiter's looming close-encounter. Web queries on "jupiter pictures" and "how to find jupiter" both surged late this week. By the time Monday rolls around, we expect the interest, much like the planet, to be even brighter.

Boeing pushing space tourism
NASA officials have said the space agency needs to evolve, and Boeing wants to help. The aerospace company is pushing forward with an aggressive plan for space tourism.

It won't be cheap for passengers to ride the light fantastic (millions of dollars per flight), but already Web searchers are taking an interest. Lookups on "space tourism" surged 78% this week. Still, don't go buying astronaut ice cream just yet. Budget issues still have to be resolved.

THIS DAY'S . . .

"This Day's" is a virtual feast of  positiveness! Enjoy and take it into your heart!

The very best and utmost of attainment in this life is to remain still and let God act and speak in thee.

~Meister Eckhart

The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God.

~Isaiah 35:1-2

An orphan girl in India was desperate to find a home. One day, she approached a visiting missionary teacher from a nearby village and asked the woman for help. The teacher had no room in her home for the girl, and no money to make a place. "But I will pray and ask God for His help." she said, "and you do the same." That evening , the teacher returned to her home and found a letter from a friend in the U.S. It contained a small sum of money- enough to begin providing for the orphan girl. Taking this as a sign of encouragement from God, she summoned a messenger the following morning and asked him to go to the neighboring village- a day's walk from her home- and bring the girl back. To the teacher's surprise, the messenger returned with the girl in half the expected time. "How did you travel so quickly?" the teacher asked. The girl's answer demonstrated the strength of her faith. "We both prayed to God for help," she reminded the teacher. "I thought I might as well start walking." She had been halfway to the teacher's house when the messenger met her on the road. She had faith that God would meet her needs- and He did.

Let me get this straight. We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase fined if we don't, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president who also smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke. ....
What the heck could possibly go wrong?

THIS DAY'S . . .

Today's Thought gave me much to think about.  I've never considered this point of view. To not care at all is far worse than to feel hatred in one's heart.

The opposite of love is not hate; it is something much worse than that; hate with all its negation and emotion at least takes the other into account; the opposite of love is something much cooler, more pallid, and really much more cruel, the opposite of love is indifference.

~William Hague

Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me. Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.

~Psalm 59:1-2

Good Thursday morning everyone! I have a new Follower - "WELCOME!"  Today's Heartlight is a wonderful LIFE lesson!

Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

~James 3:13

The character of a loving and humble lifestyle shows who is truly wise. It is so easy for people to act arrogantly, yet in the Lord's eyes they are worse than silly; they are woefully ignorant. Wisdom is not about flaunting knowledge but about living a godly life. Which more closely resembles you in your walk with Jesus -- wisdom expressed through a humble and loving lifestyle or smart aleck with feelings of superiority and arrogance?

Loving Shepherd, I know you have been a wise and loving Father to me. Help me share the care that you have lavished on me with the person who most needs it today. Please protect me from arrogance and feelings of superiority, and gently humble me in the ways that
make me a more useful tool in your hands. In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.

I apologize, dear friends; I am a bit behind today.  Therefore, I chose this prayer to post and I ask that you remember it and recite it daily for the sanctity of the lives of the unborn.  There is no greater prayer on my heart than this one for the babies. Please, stop killing the babies.  God bless you all! Tomorrow is another day!

Gentle St. Francis
you were so devoted to the humanity of Christ.
Your heart burst with appreciation toward God
for taking on human life.
You saw beauty and goodness in all living things -
in birds that sing,
the fish that fill our waters,
and all that lives in nature.

Help us to imitate your reverence for life
wherever it may be.
Especially, humble Francis of Assisi,
help us to help others
to see the worth of each living,
unborn baby sheltered in its mother's womb.

May all mankind have the grace
to understand that these tiny,
budding lives have the right to live,
liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
In the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ,

How big is your heart?

The power to make positive choices is arguably the greatest gift that we humans beings have.It is the gift of conscience and of consciousness.

I AM ......

It's Monday .... all day!  I love Monday a lot more than in the past because I no longer have to rise at an early hour and go to an office to work for someone else's glory!  Sunday's are a lot more fun now!

I am annoyed at myself.  I have lost my life rhythm, the most important one - my spiritual walk.  The summer became so crammed with commitments and although I carry my Rosary (blessed by our Pope Benedict XVII), I'm not using it.

I am annoyed that I am a NON-creative individual.  I am unable to crank out those writings like some of my favorite bloggers, who use whim and wit where it counts.  I feel I have lost my wit somewhere.  I wonder if it is hiding in this CAST on my left leg?

The thought now appears that I have been in a bad mood ever since this cast was put on my leg two weeks ago tomorrow.  It's a nuisance, an inconvenience, and also, why do people stare at other people who have casts, or crutches, or wheelchairs?  I will admit that I have had the experience of people walking up and stirring a conversation based on this bugger. Thankfully, these strangers make my day because invariably, I end up laughing.

Example: We went to J.C. Penney last Saturday and there was this sweet elderly lady (giggling), the kind who has put way too much rouge on her cheeks and blue eye shadow on her eyes.  She approaches us to open an account and "save an extra 10%".  To which I always say, "we use our sky miles VISA ...", which is or should be self-explanatory.  Then, she sweetly says, you must have kicked him [hubby] too hard when he wasn't minding!  Now, THAT made me laugh.  As we walked through the store and a few other people stopped to ask "how", I jumped right in, saying, "I kicked him too hard!"  One patron even suggested that hubby had kicked me!

Tomorrow is another day, and with that day, I have another chance for renewal.  Thus, I set a goal, and by the Grace of God, I will achieve it!

THIS DAY'S . . .

The gift of the Holy Ghost closes the last gap between the life of God and ours. When we allow the love of God to move in us, we can no longer distinguish ours and his; he becomes us, he lives us. It is the first fruits of the spirit, the beginning of our being made divine.

~Austin Farrer

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

~Psalm 111:10

Last night my little boy confessed to me
Some childish wrong;
And kneeling at my knee,
He prayed with tears-

"Dear God, make me a man
Like Daddy- wise and strong;
I know You can."

Then while he slept
I knelt beside his bed,
Confessed my sins,
And prayed with low-bowed head.

"O God, make me a child
Like my child here-
Pure, guileless,
Trusting Thee with faith sincere."

~Andrew Gillies

Something to bring you out of those Monday Blues! ♥

I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.
